Bricktastic 2025: A Show to Remember!
Wow, what a show!!!
Bricktastic, the largest LEGO event in the UK, continues to impress, and this year marked a special milestone for me personally. It was my third year attending, and I’m thrilled to say it was the event where I first dipped my toes into the LEGO community as a displayer. Looking back to the 2023 event, I’ve watched this amazing gathering grow, and it’s incredible to witness its evolution.
While I had an idea of what to expect this time around, you can never really know what an event of this magnitude will bring. This year, Bricktastic officially became a recognized LEGO event, and big congratulations to Kev and Leanne for that achievement! The pressure was on—every builder was eager to impress as the crowd packed the venue to the rafters. That energy only added to the excitement of the event.
This year, my experience mirrored those of past events. I collaborated again with my good friend Richard Bannister of Richbrix.co.uk, and like a couple of fossils, we were determined to bring some nostalgia to the show. We had plenty of table space to fill, so we went all in with displays from X-Men, M.A.S.K., Transformers, and Howard The Duck. I’m happy to say our creations went down a storm with both attendees and fellow AFOLs (Adult Fans of LEGO).
Normally, I’m never at my table for long, preferring to wander around and take in all the incredible displays. I’m still a fan at heart, even though I’m a builder myself! And while some might think I’m just rambling, I love talking about LEGO, meeting new people, and sharing my passion. It was amazing to meet some fantastic folks that I’d only interacted with online before. Shout out to LEGO TEAM BEE—despite all the online trash talk, they’re legends in my book. It was great to finally connect with them in person, as well as meet all the new AFOLs.
I also want to give a massive shoutout to the Blacklug Community, who showed up in full force, repping their merch and bricks and supporting not only me (without me even asking!) but also others in the community. It’s awesome to see how much we’ve grown since Bricktastic, and the energy is palpable. There’s something exciting on the horizon for Blacklug—stay tuned for a big announcement at Bricktastic 2026!
