Brickish National Space Centre LEGO Event 2025 Recap: A Weekend of Builds, Fun, and Pneumonia
On the 15th-16th of March, I had the pleasure of attending the Brickish National Space Centre LEGO event in Leicester, hosted at the National Space Centre. This marked my third time attending, and I must say, it gets busier and busier each year. As always, the event was filled with fantastic builds and incredible creativity from the LEGO community. However, this year, on a personal level, was a bit of a tough one.
I found out on Monday after the event that I have pneumonia – something I initially thought was just extreme tiredness. Unfortunately, that meant my energy levels weren’t exactly where I’d hoped they’d be, and I ended up spending a bit too much time resting under tables (which, in hindsight, probably wasn’t the best move). But hey, you live and learn, right?
Despite the illness, I was excited to unveil a new version of my X-Men Brickheadz, complete with the LEGO X Mansion backdrop featuring a swimming pool and basketball court. It was great to see that it went down a storm (pun intended), and I had some new Transformer builds alongside the official Optimus Prime and Bumblebee Brickheadz. I’m starting to think I might be building for a particular age group, but hey, we oldies need love too, right?
As always, the AFOL (Adult Fans of LEGO) community was there to keep my spirits up and help me power through the weekend. And to top it off, a little standup-sitdown bingo win added a nice touch to the event – I walked away with a sweet Minecraft set as the first prize!
This week has been mostly spent in bed recovering from the pneumonia diagnosis, so this post is a little delayed. But I hope you all enjoy the photos I managed to snap (by any means necessary), and I look forward to catching up with you all soon!
Until next time, happy building!
